Yeah, well that happened to me a few weeks ago when I came home and found the Crafty Vaporizer waiting impatiently like a lonely dog waiting to be hugged after a long day’s work.
Man, was I excited!
Let’s dig into my Crafty Vaporizer review.
How it Works
Based out of Germany, Storz and Bickel are the culprits behind the making of the Crafty Vaporizer.
They have become a household name with vapers around the world.
If I could put a ring on their finger, I would.
They flat out make some of the best, if not the best, vaporizers on the market – hands down.
The Crafty is their smallest, most portable concoction to date and comes from a manufacturer that delivers nothing but quality time and time again, so I couldn’t wait to test this little munchkin out.
Here’s what you have to do to get things going:
- Unscrew the top
- Load in your herbs or green
- Close the top, and
- Find your happy place
Like the Mighty, there is also a loading tool included that will make packing your next bowl the easiest thing in the world.
The cool thing about this loading tool is that it can also act as a storage container which makes the Crafty Vaporizer even more portable and easy to use on-the-go.
This app can change temperature settings, control the brightness of the LED lights and even see the heating temperature of the chamber in real-time.
Unlike a lot of crappy apps, this is actually one that you can use and really helps out.
The Crafty Vaporizer only has 2 settings out of the box.
These settings are “default” which is set at 356 °F and ‘boost‘ which is set at 383 °F.
At the default setting, which is the setting I primarily used, the unit takes about 2 minutes to heat up.
This is a little higher than other portable vapes available, but the upside is the Crafty gives you very consistent temps throughout your draws.
The vibration feature is useful here because there is a chance you may actually forget you are heating it up.
If you use the smartphone app, you can actually change the 2 temp settings to almost anything you want.
Once you disconnect the app from your device, the Crafty still remembers your settings. You can also change notifications to sound and vibrate through your smartphone.
The Crafty only uses one rechargeable battery (unlike it’s big brother Mighty which uses two batteries).
This will give you up to 1 hour of use, but some users have only seen about 45 minutes of use.
Either way, it is still a decent charge for a portable vape.
Included is a USB charger and a wall charger, so charging up is convenient anywhere you happen to be. The pass-through charging system means you can still use the Crafty while charging, but you will need to give it a little time to charge if it is fully dead.
What’s in the Box
Here’s everything that’s included:
- Crafty Vaporizer
- Power Adapter
- USB Power Cable
- Liquid Pad
- 3 Normal Screens
- Cleaning Brush
- Filling Aid
- Spare Seal Rings
- Plastic Two-Piece Grinder
- User Manual
How to Take Care of It
All you have to do to make sure this little guy lasts is use the brush that comes with it and just clean out the chamber while it’s still a little warm each time after use it.
This will make the need for deeper cleaning a lower priority.
Whenever you want to deep clean the Crafty, all you have to do take the top section apart and separate it into all of its pieces.
Using rubbing alcohol or soapy water and a cotton swab, gently wipe down all of the surfaces and areas that are exposed. Wipe it all down with a damp paper towel and just put it back together and you’re done.
Final Thoughts and Pro Tips
The Crafty Vaporizer is one of the best portable vapes on the market as of now.
Sure, the size is a little larger than some of the others (not really though, it fit really perfect in my gorilla hand), but the high-quality and ease of use make it ideal for the beginner or advanced user.
Throw in a smartphone app where you can control the temperature as well as getting notifications, and we’re talking marriage material here.
